MONTGOMERY, Ala. 鈥撎�, a project of the Southern Poverty Law Center (蜜桃传媒)听will feature the听听(TWB) project through January 22, 2023.

Whether in their homes or on the road, there were very few safe spaces for Black people听in the United States. From the Great Migration in the early 1900s to the travel restrictions and general opposition toward people of color during the Jim Crow South and the Jane Crow North, TWB explores more than a century of travel that听shaped the Black experience.

By using high-concept documentary and virtual reality technology to immerse participants into the terrifying world of the United States during legal segregation, the decision to install the TWB exhibit at the CRMC is part of the museum鈥檚 larger mission to delve deep into the roots and continuing dangers of systemic racism.

鈥淭WB examines Black travel by those deemed outcasts in their own country - not only historically but also via modern day experiences,鈥� says听Tafeni English, director of the CRMC. 鈥淲e hope that this exhibit inspires visitors to become change agents as they think critically about race and learn how people continue to be mistreated solely based on the color of their skin.鈥�
