Historic Wreath-Laying Ceremony Honoring Rep. John Lewis and Civil Rights Martyrs to Be Held at the Civil Rights Memorial Center

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — On Friday, March 3 at 3:00 p.m., the , a project of the Southern Poverty Law Center (ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½), will honor the late Congressman John R. Lewis and civil rights martyrs during a wreath-laying ceremony.

The wreath-laying at the Ìý(CRMC) will honor the legacy and life of John R. Lewis and 40 martyrs who died during the height of the civil rights movement. For many years, the late Rep. John Lewis led a delegation of congressional and civil rights leaders to the CRMC for this event to honor those who lost their lives in the struggle for freedom during the modern civil rights movement.
